  • Vienna for a weekend some pictures

    I have just spent the weekend in a cold and generally dry Vienna. It was my brother’s birhday and we decided to to do something adventurous.

    We managed to get to central Vienna on a Saturday afternoon. It was fairly full. The picture is old and new, St Stephen’s on the left and the transition to Chanel No 5.

    Just around the corner there was this view

    We visited Christmas Markets, lots of baubles

    though I am not sure everyone was as keen

    The thing that I will remember is breakfast at Westpol Cafe

    Kurdish Omlette and Turkish Coffee, wonderful

  • Yesterday: Middleton Lakes

    I managed to get out yesterday and went for a walk at RSPB Middleton Lakes. I got to see a couple of Nuthatch as they foraged. I was on the Canal Bridge when one flew across and said hello. So I got this picture as it hopped onto the wall

    The week before I had seen a Treecreeper in the woodland though it didn’t come so close

    A little later 3 swans flew past, 2 adults and a youngster
